Your turn will come!

Rivers Know this, (and so do I) there is no hurry, we shall get there someday! – A Milne

Have you ever driven a car? I think you have and if you haven’t do not worry your turn will come.

As a driver, I have come to realise with great interest that no matter how much traffic there is, your turn always comes. Be it your turn to overtake, slowdown, turn left, turn right or be released by a robot to head off to God knows where.

Never has there been exceptional traffic that one driver can attest to sleeping on the highway. Ever watched closely how drivers who have to turn right at a traffic light move to the crown of the road and await their turn? I have and it has always struck me as skillful because if one misses their turn just by an inch, they have to await the next green with so much frustration.

Where is she going with this, you wonder? Absolutely nowhere ladies and gentlemen I’m stuck right here with you all.

While I have your attention, I thought it would be noble to remind you that life is no different from road traffic and at all times you are the driver. You may be caught up in a sticky situation and doing your very best to get yourself out of it but it feels like you are not doing enough, just remember your turn will come.

As long as there is action involved, it does not matter how long the wait turns out to be, because your turn will come. As a driver you will get days like Sunday mornings which are so refreshing, zero traffic, fresh breeze and in a blink of an eye you will arrive at your destination. You will have it so easy that you just cannot help but look side-ways and behind you to check if ever there is an invisible hand at play.

However, there are days which are like a Friday of the end of month, hyuuuuuu ncccccccccc you will cuss yourself and regret ever taking that wrong turn. The traffic Jam is so intense that you move half an inch after every 2 minutes such that you cannot help but keep starring at the time because somewhere at the back of your head you cannot help but believe that you are very late even though its 5pm and you are headed home for the weekend.

Such is life and some challenges it presents, there don’t seem to be heads or tails, all things are interwoven and you do not feel a glimpse of hope that you will get past whatever ordeal you are facing. You do all that you possibly can, and say all that you possibly can say but still nothing. But somehow, someday somewhere you raise your eyes and there! The path has cleared and the storm has subsided. Your turn would have come and you would have conquered the worst of situations. You feel invincible and cannot help but want to celebrate but that tiny voice inside cannot help but remind you that it’s a temporary victory.

I say to you today, your turn has come be it temporary or permanent, take a moment kick back and enjoy the victory because your patience has been rewarded and after all joy comes in the morning and troubles do not last always.
